I will have a two-person exhibit at the Alexis Hotel August 3 through November 1, 2016. The rotating art exhibition program at this Seattle art hotel is curated by Barbara Shaiman, independent art curator and former Director of the Seattle Art Museum Gallery.
My painting Pair exhibited in LIKE MOTHER (like daughter) at the Magnuson Park Gallery. The exhibition ran April 28 - May 28, 2016. The exhibition will travel to Art Xchange Gallery (Seattle) in February 2017.
The Gallery is affiliated with the Sand Point Arts and Cultural Exchange (SPACE) located in building 30 West, on the San Point Naval Air Station Historic Art District in Seattle. Find the gallery by going upstairs and down the hall from the Officers' Club.
The exhibit explores the profound bond between mothers and daughters and is curated by Kelly Lyles. Sixty seven CoCA member artists exhibited work in this exhibition.
Two of my paintings were part of the group exhibition Seattle Simplified, Part 2 featuring 36 artists in a 2 part installation at the Seattle Municipal Tower Gallery. Produced by the City of Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, the exhibition encompasses the Seattle City Light's recent artwork purchases portraying Seattle and its surrounding landscape.
The exhibition ran from December 31 2015 to April 3, 2016. The reception will be Tuesday, February 9th, 4 - 6 pm.
My painting Pleaze and Lady M was selected for THE CVG SHOW 2016: The 9th Annual Washington State Juried Art Competition and Show, curated by Leilani Lewis. The exhibition is located at the Collective Visions Gallery in Bremerton, and runs from Saturday January 23 through February 27, 2016
On Thursday, January 14th, the Seattle Art bus tour COLLECT toured Malayka & Tom Gormally's studio as part of a special West Seattle tour catered by celebrity chef Tarik Abdullah. The tour started at 6:30 pm at Vermillion Gallery in Capital Hill and then traveled to West Seattle to visit Twilight Gallery, Kelly Lyle's studio and then Malayka & Tom's studios. Throughout the tour, celebrity chef Tarik will serve Mediterranean/North African inspired appetizers along with wine pairings and champagne. Purchase tickets here.
Two of Malayka Gormally's paintings were selected for the Seattle City Light Portable Works Collection 2015. Her paintings Sisters/Hermanas. and Couple on the Sidelines, will join the Portable Works Collection which includes many respected artists of the region.
